- ⅔ cup baking soda
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, brown sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually mix in flour until fully incorporated. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll into ropes about half an inch thick. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Boil water in a saucepan and add baking soda carefully. Drop pretzel bites in batches for 30 seconds each; remove with a slotted spoon onto parchment-lined sheets.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Brush each pretzel bite with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
