Fall-Off-The-Bone Oven Baked Beef Ribs

Ingredients
  

  • 4 lbs Rack of beef short ribs or back ribs (membrane removed)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or yellow mustard (as binder)
  • 3 tbsp Dark brown sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1.5 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.75 cup Quality barbecue sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the beef ribs using a butter knife and paper towel.
  2. Rub the meat lightly with olive oil. Mix brown sugar and spices, then coat the ribs generously on all sides.
  3. Place ribs on a large sheet of heavy foil on a baking pan. Drizzle with vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Seal tightly with another sheet of foil.
  4. Bake low and slow for 3.5 to 4 hours until meat is probe-tender (internal temp 200-205°F).
  5. Unwrap top foil, brush generously with barbecue sauce, and broil on HIGH for 3-5 minutes until caramelized and sizzling. Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
