Spicy Texas Firecrackers (Seasoned Saltine Crackers)

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz Saltine crackers (1 box / 4 sleeves)
  • 1.25 cups Canola oil or light olive oil
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Dry ranch seasoning mix packet
  • 2.5 tbsp Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Dried dill weed
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together canola oil, ranch seasoning packet, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, dill weed, and smoked paprika.
  2. Carefully place all 4 sleeves of saltine crackers into a large 2-gallon ziplock bag.
  3. Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the crackers in the bag. Seal tightly with minimal excess air.
  4. Gently rotate and invert the bag to coat every cracker. Let sit flat at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours, flipping occasionally until all oil is absorbed.
  5. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container. Enjoy with dips, cheeses, or soups!
